Cygnet Bar: A Toast to Timeless New York, Serving Cocktails with ‘An Ode to NYC’s Literary Icons’

Cygnet Bar is a polished tribute to the golden age of New York cocktail bars, infused with QT’s signature flair. Designed by Nic Graham & Associates, the space masterfully balances masculine restraint with Art Deco indulgence. It’s the kind of bar where you can picture Dorothy Parker scribbling witticisms on a napkin while a bartender stirs a Vesper with precise elegance.

Inspired by New York City’s writing visionaries and The New York Public Library’s famed marble lions, “Patience” and “Fortitude”, Cygnet Bar’s Lion’s Library menu is a love letter to New York City’s rich literary and cocktail culture. This section pays homage to iconic authors and masterpieces housed within the library’s storied walls. Its gravitas translates into cocktails like Dorsia, a tongue-in-cheek nod to the austere fine dining culture portrayed in American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis with Brass Lion Singapore gin, pomelo, curry leaf, and citrus, and Here is New York after E.B. White’s remarkable, funny and nostalgic essay with a Ramos Gin Fizz variant, light yet layered with tangy and aromatic nuances of N.I.P. Rare Dry gin, Mathilde Pêche and amontillado sherry.

Meanwhile, the City That Never Sleeps menu section reimagines Manhattan’s legendary cocktail classics with inventive flair. It introduces refreshed staples like the Naked and Amazing — a tropical twist on the Naked and Famous — or a reinvented Godfather based on the 1969 Mario Puzo novel.
